Memories

We purchased our first dog Ch Swiftgait the Mariah in 1994 from Ron and Dianne Besoff and whilst we were not necessarily going to show we bought a show pup.  We started in obedience and after a few months of not progressing too far we had a go at showing and have not stopped since then.  We mated Elsa to Ch Dumbledeer Youngs Raja as our first litter.
Elsa is lived to the grand old age of 14.5 years.

Just over a year later we bought Ch Dumbledeer Youngs Gem from Pam and Mary Young.  We mated Gem to Gr Ch Karidgeway Hey Presto at 3 years of age.  Gem lived to 13.5 years of age and was in excellent health for her age till the end - her daughter is an Australian Champion and her grandaughter is a Grand Champion Sprintaway Rubica Red, grand daughter is Champion Shakiera who is still being shown today.

We later bought Gr Ch Karridgeway Hey Presto and showed him for a number of years and made up his Grand Champion title.   Presto had excellent movement and temperament and died aged 13 years - he is the father and grand father of a number of the Sprintaway dogs we show.  His grand daughter is the first Sprintaway Grand Champion.

Milkshake, our first Champion under the Sprintaway prefix was the daughter of Dumbledeer Youngs Gem (ai) and Gr Ch Karridgeway Hey Presto.  She went on to also be our first major placing at Sydney Royal where she attained a Reserve Challenge as a youngster.  Her best achievements were delivering us Kate, Grand Champion Sprintaway Rubica Red (now retired), her grand daughter is Champion Shakiera (now Best in Show winner and RUBISS) and Sprintaway smooth Satin. Milkshake lived a full life till the age of 14.5 years.

Following on from Milshake was her daughter Grand Champion Sprintaway Rubica Red who lived onto 14 years of age, where Kate won a RUBOB at Sydney Royal and a BOB a couple of years later, RU Best of Breed at a Dalmatian Specialty Show.  She was well known for her personality and noise at shows, loving the run around for most of her life.

A wonderful dog to show was Supreme Champion Krystaway Dream Catcher that won 19 Best in Group awards, a Best in Show at all Breeds and a Best in Show at Dalmatian specialty show combined with 2 RDCC at Sydney Royal

Our most successful dog in the past 25 years was bred by us being  Supreme Champion Sprintaway Chief Cheroke who won multiple Best in show awards at All Breeds and at Dalmatian Specialty shows combined with 2 Best of Breeds at Sydney Royal and many other awards, a favourite - you will see him many of our current pedigrees as well.

You will see these and other very good dogs in the pedigrees of the dogs that we have shown and bred.
